Finally...mid August we completed the necessary repairs on our magnificent home away from home and we ventured out to Silver Lake Michigan. A city along the Western coast that is known for it's sand dunes. To say the least, it was a trip we will never forget! :( I know it seems strange to wait until mid August to take our first trip but this lovely pop up, was a steal in price BUT that meant it needed a few repairs. We only paid $500 for it, and the guy we bought it from had done a lot of work to the inside. Painting, brand new mattresses and cushions (still in the packing with the $1200 receipt), and it looks like some trim was replaced. Inside was on point. The trouble was the cable system. It was snapped so you couldn't crank it up. Jason figured it wouldn't be a big deal so we went for it. Well that project that wasn't a big deal took about 2 months of research and 4 WHOLE days to get the job done! In the end though, it was totally worth it. Keep i
We started off as a family of 3 when we finalized Olena's adoption in 2006. 2017 brought many changes and we are now managing our lives as divorced parents who love our daughter more than anything in this world and still love to promote adoption. While I don't blog as much as I use too, I do like to keep updates going at least once a year for those of you who followed our story for the last decade.
