*I heard about incident such as this last week and it really bothered me. I came home and told J about it and told him the schools now a days are ridiculous. My bosses daughter is currently student teaching and she is with a 2nd grade class. She came into our office last week and during our chat she was telling me about how these kids, the things they say and do (believe me, you don't want me getting into this) but the story that did catch my attention was when she told me how several of students end up spending the day with their pants unbuttoned and unzipped...why you ask?? because when they ask her for help, she tells them NO.
NO -because the law does not allow her to touch her students in that way? I was dumbfounded . I asked her " in what way would you be touching them if your just helping them with their pants?" She freaked out and said OMG you are never allowed to touch them because it will probably become a sexual charge. All I could think to myself is how awful this is, and what has this world come too that we have to let our children walk around school with their pants undone because the teacher is not allowed to help them at the age of ONLY 6??? I remember before we decided to home school I was reading another families blog and the mom was talking about this very thing. She said her boy had a wedgie (haha) and while he had his hands buried down the back of his pants they come undone, so she had to fix it. She then wrote "if he was in school, who would have done that?" I thought to myself, how silly. He is only 5/6 years old, the teacher of course. Boy was I clueless. Good thing I am not a teacher because I would have lost my job years ago. Forgive me, but I would be damned if I let my student walk around all day with his clothes half off because I wasn't allowed to offer my assistance when I am the only adult to help. Maybe they should call the parents and tell them they have to come in and take care of it.
Thank goodness for Homeschooling I guess!

I have one from personal experience as a high school teacher.

Johnny brings pot to school and puts it in his locker. Principal catches him, calls the police and has Johnny arrested.

1958 - Johnny's parents leave him to suffer the consequences, pay his own bail and then they ground him for a year.

1996 - Johnny's mom comes up to the school, lays into the principal for calling the cops on her baby, says he's been framed, bails him out of jail and takes his side. Johnny grows up to become a permanant juvenile delinquent who won't take responsibility for his own actions.

Notice anything different?

A little accessory for her Aunt Rickie's wedding.  She kept telling us she wanted long hair like us for the wedding but we just never grew it out.  So voila! instant long hair! I do plan to make it look a lot nicer for the wedding.  Literally she walked in from playing in the sprinkler and I shoved it on her head.  Once her real hair is curled it will blend and look more uniform. I am proud at how well I matched the color, I was worried because I ordered it off line.

Being brave the best way she knows how.

Olena has a big issue with getting her nails clipped. This has been a problem since bringing her home and though it has improved a bit in four years, it is still a 45 minute fight just to trim her fingers and toes. She has never been hurt - she just has a problem with it due to her sensory disorder - she is extremely over sensitive when it comes to her feet or hands. I am cutting her nails the other day.... O: do you have to cut the baby one too? M: Yes! O:NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the baby one OK? M: I have to, it's really long O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, its my dragon claw. M: I still have to cut it O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, just leave it ok! Leave them all. I can do it. M: how? you don't know how to use the clippers. O: like this! (as she attempts to put her toes in her mouth and act like she biting the nails off) M: that's just wrong....not to mention disgusting. I need to cut them. Please give me your foot. O: (as nervous as be) just wait a minute.....**big sigh**....(gr...
