What a beautiful day. The weather finally warmed up almost to 70 degrees and we were able to sit outside and enjoy some warm, relaxing sunshine. I have to admit though, it was an awful day. Everyone I encountered was crabby, Olena was having an extremely whinny day that started unpleasantly at 5am this morning, and tons of stuff went wrong :( I plan to hit the sack early and call it a fresh new start tomorrow. Unfortunately, thanks to Michigan's lovely weather we will be having a rainy 30 degree day tomorrow so I am not to confident that any moods will be improving. Sigh! The night ended well though. J and I laid in bed with Olena before tucking her in tonight. (this is the time she is always at her cutest)...she showered us with hugs, kisses, and lots of giggles. She reminded us, yet again, how truly blessed we are to be her parents.
Good night sweet girl!

Notice anything different?

A little accessory for her Aunt Rickie's wedding.  She kept telling us she wanted long hair like us for the wedding but we just never grew it out.  So voila! instant long hair! I do plan to make it look a lot nicer for the wedding.  Literally she walked in from playing in the sprinkler and I shoved it on her head.  Once her real hair is curled it will blend and look more uniform. I am proud at how well I matched the color, I was worried because I ordered it off line.

Soon to be teenager!

We just celebrated our 11th Gotcha Day, this kid amazes me everyday.  She is doing fabulous in the 6th grade.  She currently has all As and 1 B.  She loves school and still loves to learn.  She struggles a bit with making friends, but she handles herself well, meshes great with the staff and the teachers and doesn't take any crap or bullying from anyone.  LOL!  She has had her fair share of issues, and has had to write out 50 Ways to be Respectful a handful of times and has been in the "warrior room" to work out conflicts more than once but she is loving, kinds, silly, strong and very self confident.
