Reunion 2011 - Smokey Mountains

We stayed in a gorgeous 5 bedroom, 4 bath cabin called Norton's Creek Hideaway in Pigeon Forge. It was cozy, warm and  it was the perfect size for all 14 of us.   It sat on a pretty big piece of property and had a beautiful creek that ran right through the "front yard". There was a complete wrap around porch with a porch swing and several old rockers, which is where us adults spent lots of our time. The sounds of nature and the creek made for perfect relaxation and plenty of entertainment for the kids. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Hi,
I used to follow your blog and Angelina's a long time ago. My how they've grown!!! I occasionally go to Tonya's blog and saw all the new pics and links.

Also I have to comment, I LOVE her room colors!!! I LOVE lavendar and sage, can I ask what brand/color names you used?? I have a HARD time finding the right shade of sage, and sometimes it's too avocado and sometimes it's too light or minty green! Also I love the purple and green bedspread to match, where did you get that can I ask?

I have a little girl whose nursery used to have chair rail like yours, with dark periwinkle on the bottom and light periwinkle on the top. We've moved and right now it's just all plain periwinkle/lavendar type color. Seeing these pics makes me want to add chair rail again amd maybe add sage to the mix! ;)

Also glad to see you are going back to Ukraine. There is 1 little girl on the Reeces's Rainbow web site that is HIV+ that I think is soooo cute, "Zenya M." I didn't think it was illegal to post children with SN such as HIV and DS if it helps find them homes. Anyways, best of luck to you!

Alice, glad to see you back!! The purple is from Glidden called Lilac Bouquet but I had it mixed with Behr paint. As for the chair rail and trim it is actually all white and at the bottom, it is wallpaper. I found it on EBay; it is a vintage 1960s paisley paper with sage vines and purple, blue, pink and yellow flowers.
Thanks for the compliment. I love chair rails and crown molding - much to my husband’s disappointment! I think it is just exquisite in a little girl’s room.
Her complete bedroom furniture set is from Ikea and her quilt with matching shames came from the Thift Store for $9!! I was so excited when I found it hanging there...it is a PERFECT match!

My daugther has an IKEA dresser ;) Didn't realize the bottom was wallpaper! But still looks so nice, and I'm a bit bummed your comforter came from a thrift store because I possibly wanted to buy the same one! ;) I just saw PBK came out with a line of lavendar/butterfly bedding and such, but I'm not a PBK kind of girl!!! $$$$ ;) However right now my DD has all lavendar/butterfly crib bedding with "periwinkle" walls. We used Behr paint, "Monet Lily." In our old house I had Behr "Beautiful Dream" on the bottom with the lighter shade on top, forget the name at the moment.

You're making me think of adding sage to the mix though like I said. We already have curtains for her closet "doors" since the closet doors in this house were falling off the tracks! And the curtains are white with a sage leafy pattern on the bottom (very mild) but I was thinking if I added more sage that is a good start ;)

Oh I realized Zenya is in Russia so I think for Russia it is OK to post on sites like RR but I know for Ukraine that's a no no. She's so cute but we're in no position to add any more kids! ;) Unless God opened the door somehow in the future.

It was Behr brand white, I just had them mix the Glidden color with Behr paint because I wanted the paint/primer in one. The walls in that room where a very bright blue when we moved in...very hard to cover!

Notice anything different?

A little accessory for her Aunt Rickie's wedding.  She kept telling us she wanted long hair like us for the wedding but we just never grew it out.  So voila! instant long hair! I do plan to make it look a lot nicer for the wedding.  Literally she walked in from playing in the sprinkler and I shoved it on her head.  Once her real hair is curled it will blend and look more uniform. I am proud at how well I matched the color, I was worried because I ordered it off line.

Being brave the best way she knows how.

Olena has a big issue with getting her nails clipped. This has been a problem since bringing her home and though it has improved a bit in four years, it is still a 45 minute fight just to trim her fingers and toes. She has never been hurt - she just has a problem with it due to her sensory disorder - she is extremely over sensitive when it comes to her feet or hands. I am cutting her nails the other day.... O: do you have to cut the baby one too? M: Yes! O:NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the baby one OK? M: I have to, it's really long O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, its my dragon claw. M: I still have to cut it O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, just leave it ok! Leave them all. I can do it. M: how? you don't know how to use the clippers. O: like this! (as she attempts to put her toes in her mouth and act like she biting the nails off) M: that's just wrong....not to mention disgusting. I need to cut them. Please give me your foot. O: (as nervous as be) just wait a minute.....**big sigh**....(gr
