I think about Olena's adoption often. Not necessarily the fact that she is adopted but the experience, our time in Ukraine. Our time with her, our new friends and most heartbreakingly...all of the other kids. I kept a journal during our time there, and to this day whenever I read my entries regarding the others, it brings tears to my eyes. Looking at those 4 weeks from their eyes, it completely heart wrenching. How awful it must be and feel to watch us leave, and leave them behind.
I have read that if every Christian would adopt just 1 orphan, there wouldn't be any left in the world. That is something amazing to think about.
With that being said, my purpose of this post is to let you all know about Operation Christmas for Mykolayiv. This is the baby house 19, Where Olena, (Lyra and Angelina) were adopted from. Other families that have been blessed enough to find their children waiting for them there in Mykolayiv, have come together and started a fundraiser to bring Christmas to the children this year. Please take a moment to read through this and if you can help in anyway, it would be greatly appreciated. Olga, the director, of the Baby House is amazing and she loves these kids with all of her heart. She has brought so many wonderful things to this orphanage including renovations, a Montessori classroom/program, an inground pool...I can assure you that all donations and gifts will go to the children.

Please
consider helping bring Christmas to children living in an orphanage in Nikolaev,
Ukraine. In conjunction with Circle of
Hope, a charity located in Huntsville, Alabama, Christmas boxes are being
collected to deliver to children in time for Ukraine’s Christmas holiday. There
are approximately 115 children living in the orphanage, ranging in age from
infant to 5 years old. Christmas boxes will be delivered directly to the
children by a group of volunteers living in Ukraine.
Christmas
gifts are going DIRECTLY to the children. This project began because many of us
have children adopted from this very baby orphanage. Others are connected to
this project because baby house 19 is very special to them.
We want to help by sending Christmas cheer to the children we saw each day during our adoption journey and to remember all our children's friends still living in baby house 19.

you can help:

donate items which we will then assemble into Christmas boxes (instructions
below, if creating your own, we ask you please keep your contents between
$5-$20)
