Well we are still alive but busy as ever!  Christmas is finally just about in full swing in this house.  We got our tree last weekend and hope to finish decorating this weekend.  Olena has been her usual Holiday obsessed self....nothing but xmas music, she sings xmas carols all day long, makes up her own and don't you dare turn on the TV unless you plan to watch a Holiday themed movie....and every persona she meets it's "Merry Christmas".  She had a great time showing off the tree we picked out too.

Working full time has been taking it's toll on me. Between that, homeschooling and the basic daily life I am running on fumes most the time these days.
I usually could get a few hours a day working from home but we are short staffed right now so I am at the office more often.  We have gone through some pretty big changes in my department and lost our darling HR rep, who is pregnant, to bed rest now which is 8 weeks sooner than we planned to have her leave.  Thankfully during the Holidays we are pretty slow, but come the beginning of January...that is usually our busiest time of the year so I am sweating a little about how we are going to handle it all, but I suppose we will get through it one day at time.
Not sure if everyone knows what I do...but I am the Human Resource Director for a Nationwide Allied Health Staffing Agency.   We have about 400 field staff workers and average 25-40 new hires a week, we have 4 offices (Michigan, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Dallas) and it is the job of my HR department to on-board all of these new hires for all of our offices.  This includes, background screen, drug screen, complete all paperwork, testing and  maintaining their employee records, payroll, and status.  It is a very crazy department and job! but I love my coworkers and I have come to make that place a second home.  I have been there 7.5 years now but I will admit, I am ready to retire, :)

Olena is done with horse back riding for the winter and she will start speed skating in January.  She is pretty excited!  we went and watched one of the classes and she thought it was the coolest thing ever so she is all amped about about starting.   I am happy it will give her a chance to burn off some of that energy and aggression.

Well I have a few more things I need to get done tonight so I will hopefully get to post again in a few days, figured I would share a few memories and stories about our 6th gotcha day.  I know I missed the actually adoption day anniversary but truthfully the day that sticks out in my memory the most is December 17th...the day I stepped through those airport doors with my daughter in my arms and seeing my whole family waiting there for us.  That is when the whole journey came full circle and my family was complete!

Notice anything different?

A little accessory for her Aunt Rickie's wedding.  She kept telling us she wanted long hair like us for the wedding but we just never grew it out.  So voila! instant long hair! I do plan to make it look a lot nicer for the wedding.  Literally she walked in from playing in the sprinkler and I shoved it on her head.  Once her real hair is curled it will blend and look more uniform. I am proud at how well I matched the color, I was worried because I ordered it off line.

Being brave the best way she knows how.

Olena has a big issue with getting her nails clipped. This has been a problem since bringing her home and though it has improved a bit in four years, it is still a 45 minute fight just to trim her fingers and toes. She has never been hurt - she just has a problem with it due to her sensory disorder - she is extremely over sensitive when it comes to her feet or hands. I am cutting her nails the other day.... O: do you have to cut the baby one too? M: Yes! O:NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the baby one OK? M: I have to, it's really long O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, its my dragon claw. M: I still have to cut it O: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, just leave it ok! Leave them all. I can do it. M: how? you don't know how to use the clippers. O: like this! (as she attempts to put her toes in her mouth and act like she biting the nails off) M: that's just wrong....not to mention disgusting. I need to cut them. Please give me your foot. O: (as nervous as be) just wait a minute.....**big sigh**....(gr
