Warning: Motivation is contagious! Looks as if my running determination has inspired a few others out there in the world...my SIL is running laps around her yard, a dear friend from the other side of the country is considering a cold Thanksgiving in Michigan so that she can run with me (which I cannot even begin to tell you how excited that makes me) my BFF has decided to try and get healthy too, not by running, but she has been riding her bike for 5 miles a day, which for her is a HUGE improvement! I LOVE IT! I am just beaming with excitment and joy! Who else is interested?
Today was my second day of training. I needed to complete at least 10-15 of running, which was pretty tough, I couldn't do the entire thing all at once but I would run for as long as I could, then speed walk until I gained my strengh back and then would run again. I made sure that my total running time was 15 minutes though. I somewhat feel like I cheated by doing this, but I swear I couldn't run 3 houses 6 months ago if I tried so this is a big accomplishment for me. To make myself feel better, I have decided that I will do it again tonight once O is in bed. I made the mistake of taking her and one of the dogs with me. To poor dog, who is also fat and lazy, had to be dragged after the first block and my daugther wasn't being exactly sweet. She wasn't happy with the fact that I wanted to run so she was pretty beat by the time we got home too.
At work, I have started using only the stairs. Our office in on the 3rd floor so when coming and going I have been running the stairs, and when I need to use the bathroom, I go to the one on the first floor so that I have to go up and down the 3 flights. This is quite challenging when you are drinking a gallon a water in 5 hours, and have to pee every 20 minutes! but even after just today I have seen a difference. Yesterday I huffed and puffed and it took a few minutes to recover afterwards. Today it burned the legs, but no heavy panting was necessary! Horray!
OK enough about me, lets move on to Olena. She is being her typical lovely 3.5 year old self. bossy, sassy, and pushing mommy's nerves every minute. Her therapy will be coming to end in a few weeks and that will be done for about 3 months, then we will go back again for another 3 months, so on and so on.
The first week in September she starts her new gymnastics class with the bigger kids. She had to be advanced into the older class because she is bored with the gym basics they're teaching her I guess! She will now hopefully be able to focus on her tumbling, the balance beam and maybe even the bars...which is her favorite. This winter I am also going to sign her up for a swim class. She has absolutely no fear of the water, and handles herself very well so I think it is time. She is now counting almost to 20, she has a little trouble with 14-17 but she has the general idea. The ABCs are no longer a problem, she can blurt them out without even thinking twice. She has also starting singing quite a few songs from begining to end. Before she would just sign a line or two and usually made up the words as she went but now she is getting the tune and she is using the appropiate words. Her stutters in back with avengance but I am not worried about it, she goes in spurts. I just think it is because she is trying to say more complete sentences now, verse just short choppy ones. She knows what she wants to say but has a little trouble getting it out. I figured in a couple weeks it will all smooth out.
Well be going out of town for the Labor Day weekend, so I'll post upon our return and let you know how things have progressed...and yes I will be training while camping too. I figured, there will be nothing better than walking/jogging the trails in the early morning sun! and smelling the fresh air.
Ta-ta for now! and I hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday weekend.

Lyra has been a bit of a pill lately too. With her it has been SCREEEEEEEAMMIINNGGGG at everything Solomon does to her. I have started spanking both of their butts. His for pestering her, and hers for that awful shrieking racket.
O looks so cute in her gym suit. I love it. Lyra has a blue one but we haven't put her in classes yet. She looks cute in the suit though:):):).
Have fun camping!
