The title sums it up...today's my birthday. 30!! I am having just a tinie problem with it. I don't know why, but it seems so old right now. Maybe tomorrow it won't be so bad :) but it was a pretty good day. I woke up to my cutie baby girl singing happy birthday at the tops of her lungs. It was the best birthday present a mommy could get. And boy was she excited. She LOVES birthdays.
Daddy and Olena sent me 2 bouquets of flowers to work ~which was a very pleasant surprise. Then this evening my parents took us all out to a very nice dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. As expected, it was amazing
Bad hair cuts. Lets just say at 30 you must start to get dumb. I wanted to try and save a buck so I took Olena to a new hair salon that just opened near my work. They were have a grand opening sale for 4.99. I figured you couldn't really mess up her hairdo so I took her to get a well needed cut. The beautician (we'll call her that for now) did a good job, in fact it is one of the better hair cuts she has ever had. Well, my hair is in desperate need of a cut, so I figured what the heck...since I'm here I'll take advantage of this cheap cut and I had her cut mine. I said trim the bangs and cut it into a short bob. simple right? well she tells me..."your weight line in the back is kinda high, so I am more so going to "wedge it" verses bobbing it!". I said OK, I've had short hair cuts before and I am comfortable with it. So she cuts it and trims the front...looks good. For 4.99, they just cut and comb, so I walked out with damp unstyled hair. Well I got into the car, and ran my fingers through the back of my head, and it felt very strange. I came home, came right into the house, grabbed the curling brush and hair dryer and started to style. Once I ran it through a few times I got my mirror to look at the back of my hair. OMG! I kid you not, it looked like she grabed a huge section of the back of my head and just hacked it off. I came outside and turned around to show Jason. You would've died to hear his reaction...he immediately said you better leave NOW, and go get that fixed somewhere. He had many other words to say but do to the nature of his chosen words, I will not share. So here I am, it is 5:30 in the evening on a Monday. I have no clue where I should go. We had family coming over for dinner at 6:30 and it was my bday today. I freaked.
I drove around until 6:15 and after stopping at 5 different salons I finally found someone who was available to help. and it is now beautiful! thank you Melissa. A lesson well learned...you get what you pay for.
As for the Olympics...I am hooked. The opening program was phenomenal, amazing, genies. I loved it and I would have loved even more to be there. I am hooked to watching it whenever home. I have it on now watching the women's swimming! I love it. Olena is hooked too. She is a gymnastics junky. She is constantly flipping around the house. "BALTING" (aka vaulting) off of our foot stool. somersaulting all over the house. It is great to see her excitement. She was completely in awe watching the men on the rings. She just stood there with her huge brown eyes, nose to the TV with her mouth gaping open. I couldn't believe it. She love gymnastics and has been in it pretty steadily since being home. She has only missed about 3 months during the late spring/early summer. My mom was just telling me today that they need to consider putting her into a harder program because she is bored with her toddler level. I told J to get ready because we have the 2020 Team USA gymnastics Princess on our hands.

Lyra is loving the Olympics too. We hear "WATCH THIS!" and then the hopping and flipping starts.
I still do stupid things like this, the nice thing about age is you just call it "Experience" LOL!
Happy Belated Birthday!
