Our Ukrainian Family! The Sagins

Introducing Karina with her papa, Gene! Gene emailed us last night and said that he was fully enjoying life as a papa. "I became a father of the most beautiful treasure in my world! We have a daughter, named her Karina. So, now just sleeplessnights and oceans of Pampers! And, the main, the happiness!"
What a beautiful day. The weather finally warmed up almost to 70 degrees and we were able to sit outside and enjoy some warm, relaxing sunshine. I have to admit though, it was an awful day. Everyone I encountered was crabby, Olena was having an extremely whinny day that started unpleasantly at 5am this morning, and tons of stuff went wrong :( I plan to hit the sack early and call it a fresh new start tomorrow. Unfortunately, thanks to Michigan's lovely weather we will be having a rainy 30 degree day tomorrow so I am not to confident that any moods will be improving. Sigh! The night ended well though. J and I laid in bed with Olena before tucking her in tonight. (this is the time she is always at her cutest)...she showered us with hugs, kisses, and lots of giggles. She reminded us, yet again, how truly blessed we are to be her parents. Good night sweet girl!
The excitement of planes is so unbearable! We picked up my parents from the Detroit Airport on Saturday. All day, all I heard about was how excited she was to see planes. We decided to get there about an hour early so that she could spend some time watching them. We couldn't have gotten better seating :) we parked in the structure, on the outside level and we were right in front of the take off strip. She must have watched 20 planes take off that afternoon, and she couldn't have been happier! In honor of St Patty's Day and the long time tradition, Olena got to have green hair for a day! My mom use to do this to me every year when I was a kid. To this day, at 30 years old, my old school mates still talk about it. However, my hair was practically white growing up so to my surprise it took a lot more effort and food coloring to get it to show up in her hair. She was gleaming with pride about her new look though! Yes, her hair is purple here. In honor of what you a
I am not sure how many of you read the Kissack blog but I seen this today and HAD to share. This little boy is surely something special :) Look at that smile and the twinkle in his eye. If Jason wasn't out of job right now, you better believe we would be starting this adoption tomorrow! Maybe somewhere out there, there is a family who can?? This DARLING little two year old boy named Denis needs a home. He is in an easy region of Ukraine. Michelle has details on her blog. If you are interested, please contact her.

Rain Rain Go Away...

today you could easily float away on Noah's Arch...what a yucky, rainy, muddily day. Lana and I went to Canada last night to stay with Rickie for the night and we got home a short time ago. She is now tucked into bed, it is pouring, thundering and lighting outside - just as it has been all day. Now I am enjoying some peace and quiet since daddy has taken the opportunity to go out with some friends. I don't have too much to say but thought I would take the rare free time to update. Our kitchen is still in the works though very close to completion.Hopefully within the next 2 weeks or so it should be 100% complete. Jason has picked up a "side job" which has limited his time to work on projects during the day. We now have what is called J-Care! Jason has been the "manny" for our friend' s 4 year old son while they are at work. He hates when I call him that :) but it works out great. Olena has a play mate, Jason makes some extra money and he is hones
